What we set out to do

Information on men's health online swings between two extremes: clinical texts that are hard to read without medical training, and commercial copy that promises quick results. AhilHealth looks for the space between them: plain language, cautious statements, and a clear line between what guidance supports and what it does not.

How we edit

  • We start from clinical guidance and systematic reviews, not from press releases.
  • When the evidence is weak or contradictory, we say so instead of simplifying it.
  • We do not promise cures, and we do not present a product as a solution.
  • Each material health statement points to a source you can identify at the end of the article.
  • We revise texts when the reference recommendations change.
  • Links to external shops are labelled clearly wherever they appear.

The editorial team

Editing

The AhilHealth editorial team sets the line of the site and looks after the guides on men's health and bladder control. Articles are written for a general reader and checked against published guidance.

Training notes

Notes on exercise and progression are written from NHS, Mayo Clinic and European urology material, then checked so the wording does not go beyond the source.

Anatomy

The foundation articles — pelvic floor muscles, the trunk, and the link with stability — are written to stay precise without becoming inaccessible.

Reader questions

We collect questions that arrive by email and turn repeated ones into FAQ sections. You can write to [email protected].

Content is reviewed internally and compared with published clinical guidance. We do not present unnamed clinicians as endorsing the site.

How an article is made

The process has four steps. First we define the question the text should answer and gather primary sources: current clinical guidance, documents from public bodies, and indexed reviews. Then a draft is written in which each statement is marked with its source. Third, another person on the team checks that the text does not go beyond what the source supports, and corrects wording that sounds like a promise. Last, the text is published with a visible source list and enters the review calendar.

Updates

We review each section at least once a year, and immediately if a relevant guideline changes. If you find an outdated figure or an error, we are grateful for the note. That is the fastest route to a correction.

Independence and funding

AhilHealth is an independent editorial project. Some articles contain links to external shops such as Amazon.co.uk as examples of product categories. As an Amazon Associate, AhilHealth earns from qualifying purchases. Those links do not set the content: the decision about which categories we describe, and in which words, is editorial. No manufacturer pays to appear, and none reviews our texts before publication.

We do not sell products, we do not process orders and we hold no stock. Any purchase happens in the destination shop and follows that shop's terms, including delivery, price and returns.

Limits of what we do

We do not answer individual clinical questions, we do not interpret test results, and we do not name treatments or device models by email. That is work for your GP, a urologist or a pelvic health physiotherapist.
