2. What data we process
This website is an information site and does not require registration. We process personal data in two situations only:
- Email or telephone. The details you choose to send us: your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, and the content of the message.
- Technical access data. Logs the server creates automatically when it delivers pages: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and operating system.
We do not collect health data and we do not need it. Please do not send us clinical details, test results or medical records. We cannot assess them, and we do not want to process special-category data.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Replying to your enquiry. Legal basis: your consent, shown by contacting us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), and our legitimate interest in continuing a conversation you started (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Security and operation of the website. Legal basis: legitimate interests in preventing misuse and diagnosing technical faults (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Meeting a legal obligation, where one applies. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c).
4. How long we keep data
We keep messages for as long as we need to deal with the matter, and then for no more than twelve months, unless a longer legal retention period applies or the exchange is still open. Server logs are kept briefly, as a guide for thirty days, and are then deleted or aggregated so that they no longer identify anyone.
5. Recipients
We do not pass personal data to third parties for advertising, and we do not build profiles. Our hosting provider and our email provider may have access as processors, and only as far as needed to provide the service, under a written contract.
6. International transfers
If a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, the transfer relies on a safeguard recognised under the UK GDPR, such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses).
7. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set its own analytics, advertising or profiling cookies, and it does not embed audience measurement. Because we do not use non-essential cookies, we do not show a consent banner. If that changes, non-essential tags will not run before you have made a choice, and rejecting them will be as easy as accepting them.
Some articles link to external shops such as Amazon.co.uk as examples of product categories. Those links act only when you click them. While you stay on AhilHealth, no tracking element from the shop is installed. On the destination shop, that shop's cookie and privacy rules apply, and we do not control them.
8. External links
Our articles link to health organisations, clinical guidance and scientific publications. Following those links takes you off this website. You then come under the privacy policy of the destination page, which we are not responsible for.
9. Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also withdraw consent you have given. A message to [email protected] is enough. Say which right you are using. We reply within the statutory time limits.

10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. No measure is absolute. Please do not send sensitive information by email.
11. Children
This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that a child's data has been sent without a proper basis, we delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our processing, our providers or the law changes. The date of the latest update is at the top of the page. Publisher details and terms of use are on the Legal information page.
